As most of you guys know, I’ve been at Art and Science Academy since kindergarten. Well actually my family has been at ASA since they opened. This being my last editorial, I’ve decided to take a visit to some of my favorite memories from the past few years.
Every year since 6th grade we always have a buffet on the last day of school for lunch, if you bring something you can eat the rest of the food. It’s kind of like a potluck.
Another one from 6th grade was just the song “Everybody Talks” by Neon Trees. On the bus for pretty much every field trip that year we all just sang acapella to that song.
One of the memories that gets talked about the most from last year was when a student dropped coins in the lunchroom during the 7th and 8th grade lunch, and all you hear is the clatter of the coins hitting the ground, and everyone yelling “money” and running into a big pile.
My favorite memory from my 8th grade year was the day before winter break. All of the 8th grade was in Mrs.Brown’s classroom, and we all just played Just Dance, it was a weirdly nice bonding experience for all of us.
It’s definitely a bittersweet moment writing this last editorial, but I am so incredibly grateful for my time and memories at ASA. I don’t know if I’m ready to move onto this next chapter. I wish everyone at ASA the best, Thank you for everything.
