“Do you have any advice for kids who want to run for president next year?”
A good idea for if you’re wanting to be student council president is to make yourself known. Make friends, and make sure you’re viewed as a kind, responsible person. The better known you are, the more likely you are to get votes. 
You should also try your best to be a leader wherever you can. Being a leader is a big part of being president, but don’t be controlling and bossy. It’s super important to value others, not just in the student council, but in your entire life. Just because you’re president or the leader doesn’t mean every choice is yours. Being a leader means that you take charge and make sure that everyone is happy with the choices made. Another idea is to keep your cool. Stay calm and confident if you want to be president next year. If you sound unsure of yourself, your peers will be unsure of you. Make sure others think, “Wow, they know what they’re doing.” Because you do know what you’re doing. You’re being a great leader. The most important thing about being president isn’t really about being president at all. It’s about before you become president. Be a good sport. If you win, don’t brag in your competitor’s face. That’s just cruel. Shake their hand and congratulate them on how far they’ve come. And if you lose, that’s totally okay. You know you tried, and you’ll always be a winner inside.
