A survey went out at the ASA Middle School to students and staff asking what their opinions were on voting age. 18.8% said to lower the voting age, 77.1% said to keep the voting age the same, and 4.2% said to make the voting age higher. There were 48 responses so not every single person filled it out so this is the data that was given. 

I think the voting age should be lowered because even if your brain is not fully developed till your 25, you’re still a person with opinions who also lives in America and is also affected by whoever becomes our President. Even though not everyone does their research it is their fault if they get a bad President because they should have done their own research. Yes, your opinions might change but they could change even when your brain is fully developed. Opinions change, but what matters is what you think in the now. In this 2024 election I know who I would have voted for because even though I’m only in 8th grade I still did my research because I will be affected by whoever becomes president as well, not just adults.
