On Tuesday December 17th, 2024 the ASA middle school had their winter band concert titled “Let it Snow!” It started at seven pm and was located at the ASA elementary gym. The grades (fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth) all performed at the concert.
The 5/6 band performed two songs, Blizzards Fury and 6 Note Sleigh Ride, afterward the sixth graders performed Bad Elf. The 7/8 grade band performed four winter songs. They played In The Bleak Midwinter, All Is Not Calm, Angels Digging it, and Holiday Bell Festival.
All of the band students have been practicing very hard for this concert. They only had three practice days on the elementary stage before the performance. The instruments ranged from baritones and oboes, to clarinets, saxophones and even more!
Middle school staff helped at the concert, and elementary staff lent their stage. Mackenzie Goedel taught the students and conducted. The concert was well attended, filling the Gymnasium. Carter Vsetecka, Jaxton White, Arietta Bellefy, Aria Traczyk, and Mackenzie Goedel, played a silly prank where Carter and Jaxton “got in trouble” before they started playing and left the stage, then Arietta left, then Aria left the stage and walked around then walked back. They were all playing in the back! Adam Skarzynski and Collin McCraner were the Bad Elfs. The students thought that it was really fun to prank the audience.
