Our products are each others beginning,

In one, water and carbon dioxide leave, 

While glucose and oxygen come in.

In the other, glucose and oxygen leave, 

While water and carbon dioxide come in.

Stomata is our security, it sorts what’s in and out, 

In goes sunlight, and glucose goes out.

Mitochondria and chloroplasts, that’s where they occur. 

It all happens, what a wonder.

Cellular respiration, ah what a word!

Using oxygen to break down food.

Getting energy from it, so smart dude.

Using energy for function in the cell,

You plan it out oh so well.

Photosynthesis, what are you?

I know you take in CO2,

to make brand new oxygen.

Energy you also create, 

turn it into sugar,

You do not complicate.

Using sunlight and water to complete all,

With chlorophyll to help make you stand green and tall.

Releasing oxygen for the world,

You help sustain life on earth.

Both of you get your reactants from air and soil,

Both very important to sustain life here on earth.
