Elective choices are back at ASA Middle School. However, at elective class sign-up during Open House, students found out that there were no options for art electives. Why is that? I went to the Art Teacher, Mrs. Stuckey, to find out.
All Middle Schoolers are required to have an Art Class, but this year it is a little different. According to Mrs. Stuckey, for the first trimester, she is, “ focusing on getting people in the swing of things in art.” She explained that she is running around the school helping with many other things like organizing and integrating art, and supporting our other art courses like theater and newscast.
Mrs. Stuckey stated that it “may be possible that electives from last year could return as well.”
Next trimester, she hopes to continue electives such as Advanced Art, and Art Collab – which would be more digital artistry. 3D art electives could be an option with ideas such as clay sculptures, and paper mache. 2D electives would be anything with paper/flat like murals, painting, sketching etc.
