The greater wildfires are in Palisades California, Eaton California, and Hughes California. These fires affect citizens, animals, government, countries, firefighters and the citizens’ families. They were started because of high winds and it was abnormally hot, and had not rained for a while. 

The fires started early January. There were over 1 million acres burned, and 28 people died. Many people have been injured, and over 2,000 structures were damaged or destroyed. At least a dozen schools have burned down, such as Palisades Charter High School, Marquez Charter Elementary School, St. Mark’s, and Eliot Arts Magnet School and more. Many celebrities have had to evacuate such as Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Chrissy Teigen, Tara Lipinski, Paris Hilton and many more. California finally got rain but now faces possible landslides, mudslides, and toxic ash runoff.
