Well, it’s the end of an era. The Chiefs have fallen; their reign is over. With the score of SuperBowl 59 ending at 22-40 Eagles, fans were on the edge of their seats (well, my family at least). For the first three quarters of the three to four hour game, the Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs. Then, the Chiefs attempted to come back during the fourth and final quarter, but there was no time left, even for the famous Patrick Mahomes, who is probably known best for his ability to react in a very small amount of time.
In the end, the Philadelphia Eagles took home the famed Vince Lombardi trophy, and now, it’s their turn to bask in the glory and triumph of winning one of the biggest sports in America (note, I said ONE OF. Baseball is America’s national sport and America’s second favorite pastime would probably be football or even basketball).
Anyway, no matter who you rooted for during this groundbreaking and monumental SuperBowl, you may still have something to celebrate. Sure, if you wanted the Chiefs to win, you may be a little ticked off, but hey! They won two years in a row, and this was Patrick Mahomes’ chance to prove if he was up to being at the same level as Tom (The Goat) Brady. Unfortunately (well, unfortunately if you were for the Chiefs), he wasn’t able to come back in time, unlike Tom Brady, who’s come back countless times during games that made it look like him and his team were about to lose. This was Patrick Mahomes’ chance to show the world that he could indeed fill the shoes of the one-and-only Tom Brady, and it’s very unlikely that he will get another.
Either way, the Philadelphia Eagles took home the win, and now we can see what they’re made of, and if they can do it again.
