On December 2nd 2025, the 7th and 8th graders of Art and Science Academy went to the Guthrie theater to watch the theater production, “A Christmas Carol.”
The 7th graders have been reading the playwright version of “A Christmas Carol,” preparing to go see the play. “The Christmas Carol” is a unit for the seventh graders in language arts. That means that they have been learning about the play and parts of a play, specifically a drama. This has been a yearly trip for the 7th graders, the 8th graders were a new addition to the field trip this year.
The 7th and 8th graders at ASA left the school at around 9:00am. They arrived at the Guthrie theater at around 10:00am, and the play started at 10:30am. The play was around 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The production had many jumpscares, and cool costumes. The 7th and 8th graders enjoyed the costume of the ghost of Christmas future, and the sound and lighting effects.
During intermission, the Guthrie theater served granola bars and water, which was a new addition this year. After the play, the 7th and 8th graders of ASA ate lunch, and got on the bus for the one hour trip back to Isanti, arriving at 2:00PM.
